Drag in Demand Directors
Drag in Demand is a proud advocate for local drag, recognizing its vital role in the gayborhood. We’re not just supporting drag — we’re building an ecosystem around it. From creating new opportunities to driving income for performers, we’re investing in the future of local drag scenes across the globe.
WHAT IS A DRAG IN DEMAND DIRECTOR?
At the heart of our growth are Drag in Demand Directors — leaders who champion their drag communities and build the Drag in Demand brand, including a roster of performers, in their market. Directors play a crucial role in shaping our presence locally, working hand-in-hand with performers, events, promoters, venues and Pride to create a thriving drag economy.
At Drag in Demand, our Directors leverage a suite of resources, support and tools — including access to the Drag in Demand booking platform — to build and grow their local markets. With Directors based around the world, we’re fostering a global network rooted in collaboration and community.
WHAT DO DIRECTORS DO?
Our Directors are community-rooted LGBTQ+ individuals responsible for:

- Handling bookings which includes negotiating rates, coordinating calendars, drafting agreements, organizing travel and communicating with clients and performers ensuring their needs are met before, during and after the engagement.
- Developing local partnership agreements with events, promoters, venues and Pride.
- Producing Drag in Demand events that benefit performers and do not compete with local drag events— such as our Scotty Kirby shoots, which include exciting perks and opportunities for participating performers.
- Marketing and promotion which includes planning local campaigns, managing an ad account including a monthly report and growing performer opportunities.
- Onboarding local nonprofits to be beneficiaries of The Gaybors Fund.
- Contributing to global growth while staying rooted in the local market.
